Car - Ford Escort Mk2

Stuart Waters and Todd Payne make a return to Targa West 2009. In 2007 the team finished a solid 10^th outright in the Modern Competition category but this year switch from a four wheel drive turbo-charged Subaru to a 1975 Ford Escort Mk2 in the hotly contested Classic category.

"I havent competed in a rear wheel driver for over 10 years so this is sure to be a challenge" said Stuart from his Melbourne office.

Rolly Waters, Stuarts dad, has a long history with the Ford Escort and is building the car at the Team Racetune workshop in Bayswater WA - 4000km away from Stuart’s Melbourne base.

Rolly said there was plenty of time left and could guarantee Stuart and Todd would have a class winning car in their hands when they both arrive into Perth mid August even though its still not ready!

The team are expected to be among the leaders of the classic category so keep en eye for the Escort over the weekend of August 20-23, 2009.
