Dr Robin Warren is emeritus Professor at the University of Western Australia and the Royal Perth Hospital. His
astute observations of spiral bacteria in gastritis in 1979-81, led to the formal studies at Royal Perth Hospital,
in which the new organism was cultured and linked to peptic ulcer and gastric cancer.
Dr Warren, a widower with five children and six grandchildren, lives in Northbridge, a trendy Perth suburb renowned
for its entertainment and continental cuisine.
